Statement from Delirenous

This is a difficult conversation for me to finally have, and it hasn’t been an easy decision, but it has been a long time coming. By now, many of you have likely heard about what’s been happening with Janitor AI and the backlash surrounding it. If you haven’t, I encourage you to please check out this bot. There is a massive amount of information, far too much for me to make an accurate and comprehensive TL;DR.Because of everything that has come to light, I cannot in good conscience continue posting on this site.────────Over time, I’ve had multiple personal experiences that have deeply shaken my trust in how Janitor AI is run.

  • I’ve seen minor/CSAM bots remain up with no action taken, while smaller or less visible creators receive far harsher punishments for lesser offenses.

  • I’ve witnessed favoritism toward certain creators, with or without verification badges.

  • I’ve personally spoken with staff about heavy NSFW bots that were written by minors (with proof showing the creator was under 17) only to see those bots are still public and getting more interactions everyday.

  • I’ve watched changes come out with little to no communication, followed by vague apologies of “we’ll do better next time” which has yet to change.

────────I’ve been on this site long enough to remember when things were very different. Janitor AI used to be the place to be. I want so badly for it to be that again. I genuinely love Janitor and the community it has build over the years I have sailed with this ship. I’ve made countless friends here. I’ve met people I never thought I would. Creating and chatting with bots has carried me through some of the best and worst moments of my life. Now, with everything having come to light, it's like that shadow of nostalgia is being brushed aside to show what is going on. This is not the Janitor I fell in love with years ago.I cannot continue to post on or associate myself with a platform that treats its mods, creators, and user base the way this one currently does. I desperately hope that changes are made. I want to come back someday and be proven wrong, I really do not want to see this site fail. However, I cannot remain somewhere that allows minors to have accounts with minimal consequence, where “shadowbanning” is enough, or where CSAM is treated as something that should only be banned “if it was very bad.” That alone is horrifying. There is no such thing as “acceptable” CSAM. Full stop. For the time being (indefinitely, as of right now) I will be stepping away from Janitor AI as a creator.I will not be deleting my account, and my bots will remain up. You will continue to have access to them. That is a promise I have made before, and it is one I will never go back on.Looks, its crazy how hard it is to keep promises.I plan to still make bots, including the ones I already had planned to post such as more Avatar, Marvel, and more mafia bots. However, none of these will be posted to Janitor until I am comfortable posting here again.Linkin.Love, Wyvern, and SaucePan are where I will be posting to from here on out. Most, if not all, of my previous bots will be slowly transferred over. You can find links to all of these on my Carrd home page.Thank you to everyone who has joined me along the ride and supported me, collabed with me, and made a community with me. This hobby and the people here meant more to me than I can properly put into words, and that’s what makes this decision hurt as much as it does.
